Best tankmate for oscar in 75 gallon.?

I know tankmates such as convict, firemouth, pictus cat, sydontis cat, common plecos, other oscars, and guppies, he he. What would be the best tank mate for an oscar in a 75 gallon. I haven’t got the oscar yet, but I will be once my tank in cycled. I am planning on getting a 1-2 inch oscar. I will put a few caves in and subdued lighting. Mostly river rock substrate, with some gravel, so my oscar can dig. What tank mate(s) would you recommend for me. I don’t want my oscar to get scratched up because it will be a show aquarium in my dinning room and I will be buying a fairly expensive albino “super red” oscar. Thanks!

In terms of Oscars, 75 isn’t all that big.
Here’s a link with some info on “jumbo” fish…

Actually a small school of 3-4 “dither fish” like Rosy Barb or Tiger Barb (Cherry Barbs would become lunch) might prove interesting. Make sure they are at least 2″ in order to survive. These feisty little fish will not harm the Oscar. Many of the other jumbos are simply too big for a second one to be in a 75 with an Oscar.
