Was it mean for my husband to get me a chocolate carabiner for Valentine’s Day?
My husband and I have an ongoing argument. He is very outdoorsy and athletic and wishes I was moreso. He has demeaned me about this saying things like “want to go on a hike or is it too outdoorsy for you?” and things like that. We have been in therapy over it. For our anniversary I have him a sterling silver carabiner with an engraved circle and our anniversary date on it. Today, for Valentine’s he gave me a chocolate carabiner. When I saw it I thought it was for his son, a rock climber, but he said it was for me. I feel it is insensitive and a “jab” based on our ongoing issue. Am I being too sensitive or was this an underhanded dig?
