These Caves Take You Back In Time. It Is A Great Way To Explore This Environment

If you are looking for a fun and exciting adventure, consider going to Carlsbad Caverns. This National Park is located in New Mexico. In addition to wonderful scenery with gorgeous mountains, there is plenty of wildlife to observe. Most people are drawn to this National Park to explore the caves.

These caves take you back in time. It is a great way to explore this environment. People of all ages will enjoy the tour. You can take your own tour or sign up for guided tours throughout the day. The caves are steep and require a lot of uphill walking. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes. They are also wheelchair accessible. However, strollers are not permitted for safety reasons. The climate of the caves is quite chilly, so come prepared with clothing to keep your warm, even when the temperature outside is quite comfortable.

For those of you will small children, consider taking a baby backpack or sling to carry your child. Children under three years of age are not allowed on the guided tours. However, they can participate in the self guided tours. Those individuals under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years of age.

There are two self guided tours to take at Carlsbad Caverns. Your entrance fee is good for three days, so you can take your time exploring the caves. The Big Room tour is the longest. It is a mile long and takes at least an hour to walk through. This is recommended for those with small children. The Natural Entrance tour is 1 ¼ mile long. You will follow the route of explores, going down 750 feet. This tour is recommended for those in excellent physical shape.

Guided tours take place several times per day. You can call in advance to make a reservation or sign up when you arrive. No matter which way you choose to explore the caves at Carlsbad Caverns, it will be a wonderful exploration experience you will never forget. They are open every day except Christmas from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The cost is very reasonable with adults being $6 for a three day pass and children under 15 are always free.
