Caving Bibs

Is the shirt an extention of the bib?
I would imagine that the bib evolved into a shirt to keep food off of the chest and stomach areas as the baby grows older. Its also good for the rodents to snack on when the shirt wearer is napping.
And the sleeve, a way to wipe away crumbs and such from the mouth. Ants may find it easy to crawl up the arm and find food on the sleeve.
Tucking in the shirttails would indicate a need to store some of the crumbs that have been caught on the shirt.
You never know when you will be working a cave overnight and need a light snack to keep you going.
i just store my crumbs and various other items in my beard, my shirt is specifically for shoving newspaper down…
