Epson MovieMate 60 Solid Performing Projector With Nice Features!
I bought this Projector for home as an inexpensive device for the “man cave”.
It set up in under 1 min out of the box and played my DVD’s flawlessly in high definition. My laptop displayed PPT presentations keeping the display on the computer on for dual image to either stay at the laptop or use a remote.
You will need a male to male computer monitor cable- they sell them at wally world for $20 or best buy for the same price if you want to keep it old school and simple.
The display was crisp and clear. It has solid self adjusting screw up / down legs that function well and a lot better than other flimsy projector’s I’ve looked at.

If you don’t want to use a laptop and want to run it usb:
It has a usb input for thumbdrives to play jpg, mp3′s, mpeg’s, wmv’s, avi’s.
You have to create a folder on the usb and “save as” jpg format for a ppt slide in Powerpoint to use a stand alone thumbdrive with no computer- be sure to name the jpg slides as a,b,c,d,e instead of 1,2,3,4 when just using a thumb drive. It was easy and not a task to flip through the folders and image files created for presentations and pause them if needed. You can also play an MP3 sound file during the presentation as background music if you need to.
The remote for the projector is great and I didn’t even have to point it at the machine for it to pick up and function. I pointed it at the wall 15 ft away and it bounced back at the machine and worked fine. The remote worked great for the DVD functions and it was nice to have an all in one device vs cables and separate devices- external dvd players.
The sound was fine, I wish it had been louder to bump it up 20 – 30 watt speakers to blast it, but it was as loud as a standard large LCD TV. That was the only draw back to it. You have the option of hooking external speakers up to it if you want to. I didn’t need to.
It is a nice device that will serve both purposes I bought it for- worth every penny spent for it.
I would recommend it. If you wanted a more professional model, the Epson – PowerLite Presenter WXGA Projector with DVD Player is the next step up in higher resolution and price.
The resolution provided in this model was more than enough to do what I want and feel satisfied for the purchase amount paid.
